Happy New Year, everyone!!! ^_^ Did you celebrate New Year's Eve like there's no tomorrow? *lol*
Something very unrelated:
A video of a 'band' that was playing near an arcade in one of our most-visited malls here in Makati City, Philippines. ^_^ They're so cute. Haha~ XD I have a few pictures of them here. One of them was so cool -- it was wearing a rasta hat with fake dreads. *rofl*
So I uploaded a bunch of pictures at Multiply in between thesis-writing breaks. :3 I was able to upload all the pictures (finally!) of K. Wasabi from my old gallery. ^_^
Great night, but blasted audience for
ruining everything
(Old post on this here)
One of my favorite pictures of K. Wasabi ^_^
This was from our gig in Pride Rock Cafe
The only picture I got from LO 2007 :(
Sonny's on the first 2 pictures and Whippet on the 3rd picture
room of Tita Jeanette's wake
More pics! :D I checked if I have uploaded all the pictures of the band from past to present, but I still haven't. I wonder when I'll be able to move all the pics from HyukTa.net Gallery to my Multiply account. -_-;
We had a gig last August 18, 2004 at Town Square, Sucat. Only 4 of us performed that night. Although there were a few of us, we really had fun. ^_^ Jozen and Roland are really great to be with.
A few days after (August 24, 2004), we had a gig in the now non-existent Orchidia's Bar.
This was located in Intramuros where I know doesn't really support bars
like that. :/ There were only 4 of us again. We had a great time as we
walked around the area looking for beer and even camwhoring. ^_^
Before these two gigs, we had a 2-gigs night before. We played at KSP Bar and then at Club Indios. Thanks very much for Luv for inviting us. We owe you A LOT!!! I won't forget that. :) Of course, this gig dates back in 2004.
Back: Shabby :P
The Ciboney Bar gig was held last year. ^_^ I'm just moving my pictures from old-skool GJ. Hehe~ I miss watching CBI. I feel like I haven't been giving time on my band life (meaning -- watching other bands than just playing with mine) compared to before. I hope I can get to watch gigs again. Maybe I should make it a first in my new year's resolution list. *lol* Yeah, I haven't made one yet. XDDD I make resolutions yet I tend to forget them. O_o

There were over 130 bands last May 19, 2004 @ Eastwood. Bands were divided by genre. I was at the reggae/ska area (held at Via Mare) with my parents. First performance was by Coffee Break Island that I missed due to stupid traffic caused by this event. XP Other performances are (in order): Homegrown, Neighbors, Hemp Republic, Jeepney Joyride, Reggae Mistress, and Tropical Depression. (I'm not too sure though of Reggae Mistress and Tropical Depression. I left right after Jeepney Joyride. There were so many people!)
Homegrown played about 6 songs including, my all-time fave, More Today Than Yesterday. ^_^ Neighbors is one extreme cool band although the members are kinda old. *lol* They're good and we were lucky we had a chance to be with them at Club Indios. While they were performing at Fete de la Music, I was cheering for them and shouting, "We played with them at Club Indios! wo0t! wo0t!" XDDD My dad got surprised we played with them. Hehe~ He was out of town during our gig. He told me I should have asked them to give us a line-up too. ^.^ Anyway, moving on... Hemp Republic seem to have brought their audience (which are mostly raver-lookin' gurls... UGH). The bar really got FULL during their perf. They're okay. Most of their songs are Bob Marley covers. They just gave a li'l ska-feel to it. At one song, the guitarist/back-up vocals smoked weed. My goodness... T_T Even though I do not like them that much, they're inspiring me to play reggae music too. I've been planning it already -- Burigs as the vocals, I'm the guitarist, Roland as the bassist, Jozen as the back-up vocals & percussionist, Maru as keyboardist or the drummer if Carlo's not available, and Carlo as drummer. ^_^
Jeepney Joyride only performed about 4 songs because they were having equipment difficulties (guitar amps & mic) and Hemp Republic took too much time. XP It was still fun. I was at the dance floor, pushing this guy who was pushing me too. Crazy @$$. But I was able to take pics and vids of the band. So it's all cool. Norman is real wild. He was trying to do his Earthworm Jim move, but the stage was too small, so... ^.^ ^.^ He's really wild. I think he bumped his head on the ceiling because he was jumping too high. *lol* He's not a high-jumper. The ceiling was low. Man, I wasn't moving much on the dance floor because I was recording but I was sweating like crazy. XP The smell was getting bad too and it got worst when the guy in front of me started to smoke weed. O_O The people started to go, "WTF!?" Haha~ Oh well...
I'm attaching pics of Jeepney Joyride. They're not really good as they were taken using my Nokia 3650. ^_^ (You can view more in the gallery.)
